A New Sleep Schedule (great for Artists!!)

Tino Beano and Ralphie
Tino and Ralphie 2018 Mixed Media in Sketchbook

Hey! Woah two posts in a row. You can thank my new sleep schedule for that. I’m starting this thing where I go to bed around 6 p.m. and wake up between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. I started it yesterday (Monday) and let me tell you- it was a super productive day.

I finished the painting from yesterdays post, wrote/uploaded yesterdays post, posted on Instagram, started a few sketches, and came up with a list of new painting ideas. As I am writing this, it’s 3:49 a.m. on Tuesday (I woke up at 3), and I plan on having an even more productive day! Basically, I’m really starting to take my art more seriously. I treating it as my “career”, for now.

If you have read my post about art block, I said that one good way to overcome it is to get up early. It’s true, for me at least, because I feel so much more creative. It’s like my mind is more open at these hours. 👩‍🎨 (Guess who just figured out how to add emojis?) If getting up early isn’t something you can do on the regular, I’d recommend at least trying it out on like the weekend or something like that.

About the Painting

Another pet portrait! Tino is the black one and Ralphie is the grey one. I drew them in my sketchbook with a micron pen and used thinned down Acrylic paint to get the watercolor look. Since it is in my sketchbook, I wasn’t being super careful and ended up messing up the paper a little bit. I went into Photoshop and fixed it. Lol you probably can’t even tell 😛

Contact me if you are interested in getting a pet portrait of your own pet!
