I absolutely love this quote. It is something that, as an artist, I have to live by.
It is so easy for any of us artists to be overlooked. That’s why I do things my own way in an effort to stand out. This is probably not going to be a “professional looking” artist website, but that is perfectly okay!
I’ll be posting weekly for right now. You can expect to see a new post every Monday.
Well now that that is out of the way, I can talk about my self-portrait. I have named it Selfie. I painted it over the summer using Acrylic paint on a 9″x12″ piece of Watercolor paper.
Honestly, I don’t get why so many people complain about drawing hands. The only trouble I had was getting the shading just right on the hand holding the phone. Overall, I really love how this painting turned out. I especially like how it looks like I’m balancing my bodiless head on my hand. There is not a deeper meaning to it other than me being too lazy to paint a proper background and the rest of my body.
But if you really think about it, it kind of symbolizes how our lives depend on our phones.
Well while you think about that, I would like to say thanks for checking out my art. This is for sale! $50 If you like this but wish it looked more like you, well I am open for commissions! Just head over to the contact page.
